IMG_9774
By now you know I absolutely love a short shift dress and have one in pretty much every color imaginable.  They happen to fit perfectly into my style aesthetic of clean uncomplicated lines.  I also adore designs in a fantastic fabric with a simple surprise which is what was created with this wool crepe from Mood.  Using this Butterick pattern 5948 view D with the following pattern alterations.

Size cut-10
-Added 2″ to the back and front of the pattern
-Added 8″ to the length of the back and front
-Added a 9″ zipper at the center back
-Added 2 vertical welt pockets lined in a bright yellow poly blend.
-Removed 2 inches from with width of the arm pattern (for a tighter fit) and added  1.5″ to the length.
-Added a 7″ invisible zipper to the forearm
-Added  shoulder pleats on the front of the pattern

I would really like to know how it is that you can visualize that dress out of that pattern. You are truly talented. It takes more than just a person that sews to be able to see that.

Keep doing what you do and keeping us in Aww
