DIY Hounds Tooth High Waisted Mini

houndstoothskirt
I have had a love of hounds tooth since the beginning of time.  I was probably the only kid in elementary school wearing a hounds tooth bomber.  Dressing like an adult in the fourth grade was so not cool, but you could not peel me out of my favorite jacket.  This skirt was made with a wool blend hounds tooth fabric I picked up at G Street and I knew I wanted a short full high waisted skirt that will look perfect with or without tights.  I used Butterick pattern B5285 view B with the following alterations:

-Opted for flat inverted pleats
-Added a 4″ high waist
-Removed 6″ from the hem
-Added seamed drop pockets

Gorgeous! Did you line this skirt? If so, any pointers? Thanks

      Thank you!

No I didn't line it. This fabric lays very nicely with a great weight and drape so I didn't feel the need to line it. Because this is a pretty easy design lining it should be pretty simple. here are instructions that seem pretty easy to follow http://www.ehow.com/how_10062899_line-skirt.html this
