DIY Cropped Plaid Trousers & Top

plaid
My love of cropped wool continues…………..I absolutely love a plaid fabric and after searching for a large pattern plaid  I came upon this one from Mood.  The only problem was that it was available only in a coating weight.  I read the description which stated it had a fluid drape, and I took a gamble.
They feel amazing.

The trousers were made using Burda Style 7250 with the following alterations:

Cut 2 sizes smaller than normal for a slimmer fit
Used box pleats
Double pleated the pockets

The top was made with the leftover trouser fabric and the leftover wool fabric from these available on Moodfabrics.com here  Burdastyle.com down loaded pattern 08/2013 #129  with the following alterations:

Added 4 inches to the hem of the pattern
Created 2 additional seams on the sleeve
Added a zipper at the neck
Added 4″ at the wrist
