DIY Caftan mini

The caftan has been my fall back look for the past 18 months or so, it was my comfy goto while pregnant and my functional, comfy and fashionable post pregnancy look as well.  One thing that’s undeniable is the fact the caftan is versatile and with a few alterations, can take you from day to evening with ease.  With my busy schedule, versatility and comfort is key.

The fabric used for this dress is Mood Fabrics navy matte jersey.

This caftan was made with the same pattern I used here, vintage Simplicity 5900 with the following alterations:

-Removed 25″ from the length of the pattern
-Removed the zipper and neck collar
-Cut a 10″ neckline
-Sew the batwing sides closer to the body for a more fitted look

In staying with my need for versatility, style and comfort, I have to mention these caged heels by Iylia.  Most of us are guilty of sacrificing comfort for fashion, but with Iylia that’s not necessary.  This is truly a heel to be worn all day! Try them for yourself here  and use code BEAUTEJADORE at checkout for 30% off.

Hello Nikki! First time commenter here…I'll start by saying I love all of the clothes you make. You carry them off is such a chic, classy way.

Secondly, I jumped at the chance to purchase these shoes with your 30% code, however the code did not work at checkout.
