In keeping with my Asian inspired dishes I wanted to create a “slightly” healthier version of a staple. I definitely enjoy general tso’s but I typically end the meal feeling very full, bloated and guilty. As an alternative, I used whole wheat flour as opposed to cornstarch, brown rice as opposed to white and fresh squeezed orange juice instead of sugar. I have been truly delighted to continue the opportunity to use food from my garden like these green onions which were insanely strong and so good.
