When I picked up this wool blend fabric I absolutely loved the color and immediately thought of a structured open coat. When working with patterns I look at them as a base only until I become proficient in pattern making. Instead of selecting a coat pattern, I chose to use a dress pattern McCalls M6028. I made several panel alterations, neck, sleeve and back zipper.
