Italian Turkey Meatball Pasta

When it comes to all in one meals including veges carbs and protein I am a huge fan.  They are typically quick, easy and bursting with infused flavor.  This whole wheat pasta and Italian turkey sausage dish does not disappoint.


12 oz whole wheat pasta
4 cups spinach
16 oz Italian turkey sausage
2 tbls olive oil
5 cloves garlic, sliced very thin
1/2 tbls corn starch
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
1tbls pepper flakes
Seasoned salt
Garlic powder


1.  Cook pasta according to box ingredients.  with 1 minute left to cook, add the spinach.  Reserve 1 1/2 cup of the cooking water, then drain the pasta.

2.  In a bowl, add turkey, seasoned salt, pepper, pepper flakes and garlic powder and roll the meat into small meatballs, about 30-35.  Add the olive oil to a hot skillet and cook until browned.  Drain on a paper towel and reserved the drippings and oil in a small bowl.

3.  In a clean skillet, add the drippings,oil and the sliced garlic.  Cook over medium heat for 1 minute.  Add the pasta and meatballs and whisk the corn starch with the left over cooking water in a small bowl, then add to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens slightly.

4.  Dish pasta and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
