When it comes to re-constructing a garment, It truly feels like I’ve gone shopping right in the comfort of my own closet. I’ve had this vintage Lanvin dress over a decade and found it to be quite lovely but kinda boring as seen here. I wanted to keep the cuteness of the dress but give it more of a modern feel so I removed the top half of the dress from the bottom, turning it into separates, removed the pin tucks in the skirt and replaced them with my beloved pleats. I also made the collar a permanent stand up collar, shortened the hem and tied the sash in the back. Completely feels brand new.
