By now you know I absolutely love pleats, ruffles and exaggeration so when I saw this adorable Lanvin Pique scuba jersey skirt I fell in love. In the spirit of re-creation I whipped together my affordable version with a high waist and and partially exposed zipper. Using New Look 6003 pattern view E and a medium weight jersey. The following pattern alterations were performed:
-Removed 4.5 inches from the bottom of the pattern
-Cut two 63×8.5 inch pieces of fabric, interface both pieces and sew them together to create the bubble hem with structure. Prior to attaching, baste the top edge of the hem and pull the front piece of basted thread to create the ruffled effect.
Attached the bubble hem by placing the fabric on the top of the bottom edge of the skirt to keep the edge of the bubble hem exposed.
-Added a 9.5 inch zipper
-Added a 3.5 inch waist
