DIY Swing Dress

With summer right around the corner, It’s the perfect time to stock up on summer dresses.  When it comes to that perfect dress, it all starts with the perfect fabric.  This red viscose crepe fabric from Moodfabrics.com is absolutely divine, it irons and sews nicely, lightweight with a perfect summer drape.

This dress was made with a shirt pattern from Butterick B5948 view C with the following alterations:
-Added 3″ to the neck 
-Added a 3.5″ mock neck to the back
-Removed 2.5″ from the shoulder 
-Added about 19″ to the length in a A-line shape
-Added 2 66×5″ neck ties attached to each side of the extended neck
-Added a 9″ zipper
-Serged the hem
