When it comes to animal print, I find summer maxi’s are completely appropriate…… and no one does an animal print maxi better than Roberto Cavalli. When I spotted this animal print jersey, Roberto Cavalli is the first thing I thought about. What’s perfect about this fabric is the ultra drape that makes a jersey dress fantastic. It’s currently sold out but the product code is 303128. Here are a few others on moodfabrics.com that are just as gorgeous.
The pattern used for this dress is Vogue V1102 with the following pattern alterations:
Added 4.5″ to the length of the bodice pattern which creates a plunging open back
Added 2 25″ tie straps across the back
For the skirt, I cut 2 pieces of fabric 30″x54″ and double stitched the pieces together at the sides. Attached the skirt to the bodice and pleated the excess fabric in the back, leaving the front flat.
