DIY embroidered mini

When you think of an embroidered fabric the first thing that comes to mind is a heavier more structured fabric……….but I have to tell you, this fabric is AMAZING! It’s basically strands of embroidery on a light weight cotton, making this a perfect summer dress.  I’ve ordered nearly 100 different fabric choices from moodfabrics.com and this by far is my absolute favorite.  Needless to say I will be ordering more, this fabric will make an amazing skirt.

Because the fabric is most certainly the star, I wanted a very simple silhouette so I used this vintage Simplicity 6219 with the following pattern alterations:

-Added a seam at the bodice
-Added 2″ to the length of the sleeve
-Added a strip of boning to the inside top of the sleeve to create a more dramatic sleeve
