When you have a toddler that loves to give the biggest hugs right after digging into a vat of strawberries, your fabric selection gets a little tricky. I find myself drawn to cotton that can easily be thrown into the machine and maintain it’s shape. This cotton from Rag & Bone found here at moodfabrics.com reminds me of seersucker in it’s look and texture. Is sews and cuts easily and would work perfectly in a fitted application due to its slight stretch.
The pattern used for the top was Vogue V8772 view E with the following alterations:
-Removed the collar option and added a faced V neck
-Remove 9″ from the length of the sleeve
-Added an exaggerated sleeve by cutting two pieces of fabric 24″ wide by 18.5″ long. Stitch each piece length wise and attach to the bottom of the sleeve by pleating. Add 1″ elastic to the wrist.
-Added a 80″ x 3.5″ waist belt
The pattern used for the shorts was McCalls M6756 with the following alterations
-Added a 1.5″ cuff
I have to try this before the summer is over! I have ugly legs.
Love the alterations – and little miss of course!
Your set is awesome
