DIY off the shoulder circle top and high waist cigarette pants

For sewers, we make pieces we like, we enjoy wearing and then you produce pieces you love.  These two pieces I love love love! they are comfortable, flattering, fashion forward and because I love separates, very functional.

The fabric used is a cotton woven in black and ivory from moodfabrics.com that has a raised texture that makes this simple silhouette a bit more special. The pants are lined with a stretch charmeuse for added comfort.

The pattern used for the top was vintage Butterick 5975 view A also seen here with alternate alterations.  The changes to the pattern are as follows:

-Removed 7″ from the length of the bodice

-Added 10″ to the width of the ruffle

The pattern used for the pants was Burda Style 6981 view B with the following alterations:

-Removed the placket fly and added an invisible zipper fly

-Removed the cuff and added a 2″ ankle band
