Happy Monday!!!!
In an effort to get me back on track, I’m starting this week with a 3 day cleanse. I am the first to admit, I’m a junk food junkie. I can eat Lays potato chips for breakfast lunch and dinner, which I have done recently. I’ve been extremely busy so the gym has taken a back seat in the last few weeks, but before I make this a new normal It’s time to check it.
What typically jumpstarts me in the right direction is a 3 day cleanse. I’ve tried several over the years and like the convenience of going online, ordering and having them sent to my house. This is all nice but at an average of $150.00-$200.00 and the fact I still don’t know how fresh they are and in what environment they were packaged in, I decided to DIY my cleanse this time.
One of the juices I’ve tried was Juice In The Raw, the juice was very tasty but to me didn’t feel like a true detox because the juice was so sweet. So I took a look at the ingredients contained in all their juices, amped up the green and reduced some of the sugar. Not to at all take away from their juice, because if you are a first time cleanser, this may be a great way to introduce yourself, but I needed a little more DETOX.
In addition to knowing 100% what is contained in the juice, I easily saved $150.00 which is a win win all around. To obtain the true cleanse experience, I wanted to make sure I prepped my juice, and packaged it as if It was a store bought juice. It’s not necessary but this allows you to freeze the juice and only thaw way you need for the day which helps maintain the freshness.
I purchased 18 BPA free 16oz plastic bottles from Amazon here for $24.00 which also come with labels, a huge fruit and vegetable haul for $30.00 (utilized my local asian market) used organic cucumbers from my own garden which saved about $15.00 and my Breville Juice Fountain.
You drink 5 juices a day, and unlimited water for 3 days in the following order.

Bonjour Nikki, I love the idea of different veggies for different moments of the day. I’ll try that. How about your gym routine during those 3 days? do you go with high intensity or just stretch & walk?
Looove your posts. Keep up the great work, you’re a true inspiration to me 🙂

Hi Kelly
Thank you so much!
I pretty much stay with the same intensity or slightly less. Because I have no carbs in me at that time, I’m usually pooped at the end of the day.
OMG! Thank you for posting this. I need to detox, thanks for taking the time to put this together and also saving me a ton of money I don’t have.
Thank you again.
Theresa
WoW you are so organized:) I am going to try this…thanks for the recipes!!
“This is all nice but at an average of $150.00-$200.00 and the fact I still don’t know how fresh they are and in what environment they were packaged in, I decided to DIY my cleanse this time.”My sentiments EXACTLY.
I have a Nutribullet but needed to make bigger batches so I bought a NINJA. But instead of a detox I have different variations of green drinks for breakfast at least 4-5 times per week. The only way to make sure that you know exactly what you are ingesting is to DIY!
That is quite a haul of veggies and fruit you had taking up the whole kitchen..lol. But that is the best way for a busy Mom and entrepreneur to handle it…knock out 15 batches at one time! The Root Veggie recipe looks good, I’ll have to try that one.
I am definitely going to try! I have done a detox before for 10 days and had wonderful results.
This is a great cleanse kick start.
Hey girlie so how often do you do this cleanse and do you feel full? Would this work if you added protein too it?
I usually do it every 6 months. And no way did I feel full lol. Not sure about protein, you may want to wait until after the detox.
