As I age my skincare routine tends to get more and more extensive, adding serums, oils and tonics . I actually started in my early 20’s using anti aging skincare products, I figured why not attempt to slow down this inevitable train. Not sure how much credit goes to products or genetics………..a constant debate. But each season I introduce a few new products to my skin because my skin tends to stop performing with the same products, at least that’s what I tell myself to justify the purchase.
One thing that’s remains constant in my life is skincare, since I was six years old, I’ve loved skincare products. Not quite sure where it came from considering skincare wasn’t my mother’s thing with the exception of the box of Proactive she ordered off HSN that collected dust on the top of her dresser FYI she didn’t have acne but clearly had a infomercial shopping habit. Nonetheless my love of skincare has stuck with me. Every morning and evening I have a routine and as a result, Chandler now has a “routine” it’s hilarious to watch, but these little people are clones. In an effort to encourage positive skincare habits with her, I’ve stuck with the one product line for kids that I trust, which is Mustela. When Chandler was an infant, she had a bout with infant acne, which was horrible. Her pediatrician said there is nothing you can do about it, just wait until it goes away. Of course I wasn’t satisfied with that answer, so I started researching products and discovered Mustela. After using the Mustela Dermo Cleanser the acne was completely gone within two days. I was sold and have used their products ever since.
My daily routine
AM
Step1 Cleanser-La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Cleanser (a very mild non foaming cleanser that also tones)
Step 2 Serum- Tula Volume Defense Deep Wrinkle Serum (used to restore volume)
Step 3 Moisturizer- Dr. Brandt Flaws No More r3p Cream (intense hydration)
Step 4 Eye cream- Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester Eye Serum
PM
Step 1 Cleanser- alternating between Burts Bee’s cleansing oil and Bobbi Brown cleansing oil (perfect makeup remover, that leaves my skin clean but not dry)
Step 2 Overnight mask-Tula Multi-Spectrum Overnight Skin Rescue Treatment (improves the texture of your skin overall FYI the smell is not good, but the results allow you to dismiss that)
Step 3 Eye cream-Vitamin E oil (natural anti aging oil that leaves your under eye hydrated and supple when you wake)
Chandler’s products
Mustela Dermo Cleanser (I use this instead of soap to clean her face at night and in the morning. I saturate a cotton ball and wipe it on her skin. There is no need to wipe it off.
Mustela Hydra Baby facial cream (I use this facial cream morning and night after the dermo cleanser)
Mustela Hydra Stick with cold cream (This is a cold weather life saver! Chandler’s cheeks get very dry the moment cold air hits them and I keep this stick in my bag and apply it throughout the day)
