Since I can remember, I’ve been in love with plaid. It’s one of those fabrics that can turn an ordinary dress into something a bit more special. This plaid suiting from moodfabrics.com is one of those fabrics. It’s a perfect light weight one direction stretch summer suiting that’s perfect for not only dresses but would also make a great fitting pair of pants.
This dress was made vintage Simplicity 8390 with the following pattern alterations:
-Removed the fluted hem portion of the pattern and used only the top portion
-Added 6″ to the length
-Added an encased 1/2″ elastic around the waist
-Used the sleeve of McCalls M5927 and left 3 1/2″ of the bottom of the sleeve seam open.
Dress: DIY
Heels: Giuseppe Zanotti
Bag: Vintage
Sunglasses: Stella McCartney
Hi my fav DIY blogger. I love the choice of fabric and style. Beautiful!!
This dress is absolutely beautiful and great for fall. This needs to be one of your new designs for McCall!
Thank you……..I can put this on my list as a tutorial. It was very quick and easy.
I’m so in love with this outfit.
Thank you so much
Love the simplicity of this dress. It’s actually really similar to a wool pencil length derss I purchased 3.5 years ago from Zara.
Hi, how did you draft the skirt?
