DIY little lace mini

From November thru January of every year, I’m consumed with thinking about lace and sequins because of the holidays. But because I desire to wear that holiday look well beyond the few months in the year I generally stick with neutral colors.  While searching for a lace, I came across this Anna Sui lace that’s simply perfect.  It’s a medium weight with a lot of body……….perfect for a mini with movement.  Despite the fact it’s lace, an underlining wasn’t necessary.  It sews and cuts nicely but ironing is a bit of a challenge.  And it’s currently on sale for 50% off so hurry.

The dress was made using vintage Simplicity 6219 with the following pattern alterations:

-Cut the front bottom half of the pattern at an angle

-Remove 6.5″ from the back pattern piece

-Added a 9″x 120″ pleated hem ruffle

Dress- DIY

Booties- Barbara Bui

Sunglasses- Stella McCartney
