DIY herringbone coat

If I could spend the winter making nothing but coats that’s exactly what I would do.  Moodfabrics.com has the most beautiful coating fabric of the greatest quality.  I’m inspired while spending countless hours browsing the website and adding every wool and cashmere to my cart.  Another one of my latest loves was this wool herringbone that’s pretty perfect.  It’s very thick and cuts and sews nicely. The Item# is 310532, which is unfortunately sold out but don’t let that deter you, Moodfabrics.com has other amazing wool herringbone’s to select from.

This coat was made using Burdastyle menswear coat 11/2015 with the following pattern alterations:

-Used the top portion of the pattern

-Added 4″ to the length

-Added a 6″x13″ arm band around each sleeve

-Added 2 welt pockets

-Added 2 oversized buttons
