DIY Summertime layered linen

Nothing screams summer more than lightweight linen! I’m absolutely in love with linen.  The way it looks, irons and sews makes it one of the easiest fabrics to work with hands down.  This bright white linen from moodfabrics.com is one of my favorites. It’s lightweight with a bit of structure, zero stretch and super easy to work with.

The top was made using my McCalls M7443 tunic pattern with the following pattern alterations:

-Removed 24″ from the length

-Added a 12″ layer on top of the original layer

-Added shoulder straps

The skirt was made using McCalls vintage 2905 with the following alterations:

-Removed 18″ from the length

-Added a 13″ x 40″ pleated layer

-Added a 14.5″ x 40″ pleated layer
