DIY Closet Organization

DIY Closet Organization
I’m one of those people that find it very difficult to function in clutter and disarray.  With my compulsive fabric shopping I’m finding it a challenge to remember what fabric I already have, due to the fact I keep it stored in a bin.  The tipping point was when I purchased the same fabric twice!  My first inclination was to design a craft room out of a guest bedroom but thought how unfair to turn our whole house into my obsessions, so I opted to re-do a space in my closet to accomodate my growing craft and sewing movement, as well as allow for a little clothes expansion 🙂 aka place to store overflow and new clothes.  This time I used this closetmaid product from Home Depot and these drawers, spending  $240.00 which is only a fraction of my Ikea wardrobe organization project.

If I'm not being too personal, how much did this cost you?

I am in the beginning of designing my closet room. What are you use to hang your necklaces in this picture? I have been looking for something very similar to this.

It's a sliding jewelry hanger from Ikea for about $10.00

This is awesome. I am having issues with my closet and wondering if you can give pointers on the arrangement. Do you arrange yours by type of item, colors? Any advicewill help, I feel overwhelmed.

    Hi Adebola,

I keep my closet organized by clothing type then color so all skirts are together and color coordinated. I also keep dresses organized by length keep short dresses together and longer dress together. This helps me select something to wear in a matter of minutes as opposed to struggling to get organized.

    I hope this helps.
