My version of summer layering is this silk sheer duster perfectly relaxed in these super comfy trousers made earlier this year. For the duster I used the bodice pieces to this Butterick pattern, and the following alterations:
Twisted and gathered the front at an angle
Added two snap closures
Attached the skirt around the perimeter of the bodice and shaped with pleats
