DIY Resort Style Caftan pt1

When it comes to vacation fashion, my goal is to be fashionably comfortable.  The looser and flowy the fit, the better couple it with bright colors and flat sandals and that’s right up my alley.  This 2-ply silk crepe fabric purchased at moodfabrics.com is amazing! it’s bold, striking and simply screams summer.  The trim was re-purposed from a dress I spotted at a thrift store that was five times too small but the trim was beautiful and very well made so for only $5.00 it was a steal.

The caftan was made using vintage Simplicity 8354 pattern with the following alterations:

-Added 3″ to the length
-Created a 7″ from the neck graduated V
