DIY Sequined Little Black Dress

This holiday season has me thinking about nothing but sequins and party dresses. When deciding on the perfect little black party dress, I knew this sequin fabric from moodfabrics.com would be perfect. It has a great of drape and stretch, perfect for a party dress. I lined the dress in stretch charmeuse

The pattern used for this dress was vintage Simplicity 6219 with the following pattern alterations: -Added 3″ to the length of the sleeves -Added back shoulder pleats

Chandler’s Cape was self drafted and made using the same sequin fabric.

    Love, Love, Love!
Question…when you sew with sequins, do you remove the sequins from the stitching line or do you sew through the sequins with a durable needle?

    Thanks in advance!

      Thank you so much!
I sew through the needles using a very fine needle. I then go back and trim the sequins in the seam.
