DIY strappy dress

So I’ve talked about Moodfabrics.com and their ponte knit in the past and how it’s hands down the best I’ve ever had.  Well…… need I say more?

I had a party to attend and wanted the perfect party dress.  I ran through a ton of fabric options and came back to my safe place.  I knew this ponte from moodfabrics.com  was not going to fail me! I wanted something that would hold it’s shape, be comfortable and hold up well in the wash.  In addition to how it performs, it’s easy to sew, cut and surprisingly easy to iron.

And guess what? it comes in 10 amazing colors.

The pattern I used for this dress was Vogue 7267 with the following pattern alterations:

-Overlapped the breast cup as opposed to the V cleavage

-Added 10 eye’s from these hook and eyes

-Added a 180″ cord

-Removed the side slit

-Removed the zipper

I would look on Etsy to find a similar pattern to alter.

I just stumbled on your blog and I am your new, biggest fan. This dress is absolutely stunning. Can we also just point out how incredible YOU look in it?! I love the alterations you’ve made. The open back is just gorgeous. I’ve been making my own patterns for my blog for the past several months and you have completely inspired me to play with a few of the patterns I bought and haven’t even opened yet. Thank you!
