DIY Plaid Neoprene

I swear to you, neoprene is the shit!!! It’s that one fail proof textile that you can sew-up into the perfect fit. If I find myself needing to make a quick fitted dress or skirt with little to no alterations, neoprene is where I land.

Let’s not even mention that fact neoprene has come a long way in terms of design choices, and weight. This neoprene from Mood Fabrics is a medium weight and very flexible and soft. Who would have imagined incorporating to of my favorite things……….plaid and neoprene!

Here are my top neoprene picks for the perfect fitting dress:

This dress was made using the bodice to McCalls M5927 with the following alterations:

-Added 1/2# to the height of the neck

-Removed 2″ from the width of the sleeve cap

-Added a 3″ slit at the wrist

Used this self drafted skirt with the following alterations:

-Removed the waist band

-Added a back slit
